Registration Fee: $500 CDN or $380 USD

  • Dates: Three-day/Three-round World Record Capability competition with preliminary and final rounds
  • Location: Shalom Park, Edmonton, Alberta
  • Sanctioned by: Water Ski & Wakeboard Canada
  • Rules: Governed by current International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) rules, with specific exceptions listed below

Tournament Format – Canadian Open Pro/Am

Divisions

  • U17 Boys & Girls
  • U21 Men & Women
  • Elite Men & Women

Invitational Structure
The 2026 Canadian Open Pro/Am is an invitational event designed to highlight the best of the best across all age levels. Athletes who competed in previous editions will receive first invitations, followed by selections based on the IWWF World Ranking List and performance history.

Target Division Sizes:

  • U17: 8 skiers total
  • U21: 16 skiers total
  • Elite: 12 skiers total

Preliminary Round Qualification & Seeding

Minimum Scores: Not required.
Score Submission Requirements for seeding

  • Two scores per event (slalom, trick, jump)
  • Each score must come from a separate WSWC CRC or IWWF WRL-sanctioned tournament
  • Eligible competition period: May 1, 2025 – May 30, 2026
  • Final submission deadline for seeding: June 15, 2026
  • Email scores to: kristy@shalompark.com

Note: Division sizes may be adjusted to allow more competitors in underrepresented categories.


Final Round & Seeding

The top 4 athletes from each gender and age category will advance to the finals in each event:

  • Slalom, Trick, and Jump

Seeding for Finals:

  • Based on preliminary round scores
  • The highest score skis last
  • Tie-breaking for seeding and prizes handled by Run-Offs

Overall Competition

  • A minimum of 3 athletes per division is required for the overall competition prizes
  • Overall standings calculated by combining the best scores from all three rounds
  • Overall, finalists must qualify individually for the final round

Registration Details

  • Entry Deadline: 5:00 p.m. MST, Wednesday, May 25, 2026 (This is necessary for event planning preparation, bibs, etc.)
  • Entry Fee: $500 CAD (all disciplines included) – Entry comprises: up to 3 rounds, 2 lunches, and Athlete Dinner on July 15 + live music night
  • Skier’s Meeting: Mandatory
    • Date: Monday, July 13 at 7:00 p.m.
    • Location: Shalom Park
    • If unavailable, notify: kristy@shalompark.com at least 24 hours in advance

    • Practice sets available: 9:00am – 12:00pm & 3:00pm – 5:00pm ($50 CAD/$40 USD, cash only)

Refund Policy

  • $75 processing fee for medical/injury withdrawals before the event
  • A 50% refund will be provided for non-medical withdrawals made after June 15, if the spot cannot be filled.
  • Refund requests must be made within 24 hours of the event’s close
  • Refunds issued within 60 days

Awards

  • Based on final round results for each event and overall standings, with awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
  • Round 1 and 2 First Place skiers will be recognized each round with prizes.
